A. Rian Smith

Bio

Rian Smith is Vice President of Development and Chief Legal Officer of Integral. Ms. Smith oversees all real estate related legal documents and provides legal and transaction support to all of Integral’s real estate development divisions. Prior to Integral, Ms. Smith was a commercial real estate attorney in Atlanta for both Arnall Golden Gregory LLP and Sutherland Asbill & Brennan LLP, where she counseled clients on a broad spectrum of commercial real estate matters, including purchasing, selling, and developing improved and unimproved real property, as well as retail, office, and industrial leasing. Ms. Smith also supported her clients with related corporate matters, such as entity formation, operation, and governance. Ms. Smith earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania, and her juris doctor from Georgetown University Law Center. She is admitted to practice law in the State of Georgia and the State of New York. At Integral, in addition to fulfilling her legal functions, Ms. Smith has worked with clients on large scale, mixed-use master planning efforts including coordinating architects, engineers, stakeholders, and consultants. She also serves as a team member on the development team facilitating the acquisition, planning, and ultimate development of an Atlanta citywide, strategic, urban revitalization effort. Ms. Smith serves on the board of directors for The Frazer Center, a nonprofit helping children and adults with developmental disabilities live normal lives; The Trust for Public Land – Georgia Advisory Council, an organization that creates parks and protects land for people; and The Ascent Project, a nonprofit formed by Integral dedicated to ensuring that underserved residents in Integral’s communities achieve long-term stability in their families and communities, and recently rolled off of the board of Georgia City Solutions, a nonprofit established by the Georgia Municipal Association to support new and innovative solutions to improve the quality of life of municipal residents in Georgia. She is a member of Urban Land Institute – Atlanta’s 2021 Center for Leadership class, and a member of Leadership Atlanta’s Class of 2023
